Sponsorship

It is my pleasure to invite you to join the Pacific Logging Congress for the 103rd Annual convention in Tucson, Arizona November 7-10, 2012.
Since its’ founding in 1909, PLC has been an educational leader in our industry, bringing loggers and lumbermen together in forums designed to address issues of mutual interest and concern. In 1909, the issues were logging camp safety and sanitation. Today, the issue is education – the enlightenment of public audiences that hold the social license we need to manage forests, harvest timber and manufacture wood products.
The main focus of the PLC is education, as part of our efforts to educate the public; in 2003 we created our education “wing” the Pacific Forest Foundation, a 501c3 organization to continue our mandate of “EDUCATION”.
In 2008 the Pacific Forest Foundation (PLC’s education wing) started production on a much needed “careers” project titled “This Is My Office”. The DVD was unveiled at the 100th Celebration of the PLC in November 2009. This DVD has been very well received by colleges and high school career counselors. “This Is My Office” has become the new “flagship” for the Pacific Forest Foundation and the Pacific Logging Congress. To view the DVD and for more details visit www.pacificforestfoundation.org
In September of 2010 PLC hosted 2,000 Portland and Southwest Washington teachers, students, tour guides and parents at the “6th Live In The Woods” show. We have hosted over 14,000 students since our first live show in 1989. Teachers, students and parents once again had an opportunity to see first hand the important value of our industry.
I hope you will plan to join us at convention and I hope I can count on your generous support for the 103rd Annual Pacific Logging Congress. It is support from companies like yours that will help our valuable industry survive and continue to supply wood products for the needs of our people. We are offering Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsorships, plus exclusive sponsorship of several venues. Call the PLC office for more information and event details.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and if you have any questions, please call Rikki Wellman, PLC’s Executive Director at 425-413-2808.
Best Regards,
Stanwood "Woody" Murphy
2012 President
